Project Summary and Position Overview (A detailed description of the project and what the position entails must be included):



S&T Content Technology seeks experienced technical writers to develop and maintain client documentation for the DataScope Onsite product including, but not limited to, user guides, API reference/developer guides, FAQs, product release notes, client notifications, and service alerts. In addition, there is significant internal infrastructure documentation responsibilities with these positions including, but not limited to, developing and maintaining internal architecture/development documents crucial for product design and delivery, creating/editing PPT documents for Senior Level Management, and maintaining internal communiations web and WIKI sites. Candidates must possess excellent English language technical writing, editing, research, and interviewing skills and the ability to interpret DataScope Onsite product functionality and content and translate it into terms appropriate for both internal and external clients. Additional requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to manage and work independently on multiple concurrent projects of various sizes and topics in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where deadlines and priorities often shift.



Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

*Review specifications, team track tickets, and related materials to understand product features and functionality. *Actively participate in meetings related to product development and delivery. *Interact with product management, development teams, and DBAs to understand and set documentation expectations for product releases, and meet regularly thereafter to review subject material and status. *Interview development and testing teams to understand product functionality and content and incorporate into client documentation at a level appropriate for the intended audience. *Review published client documentation and make appropriate revisions and updates. *Develop text that is clear, accurate, and written according to Thomson Reuters styles. *Document text according to Thomson Reuters formatting and template standards. *Distribute documents for review, solicit comments, and make any necessary updates. *Follow documentation guidelines to ensure documents are ready for publishing. *Publish and archive documentation. *Work partial US hours (exact times to be determined.)



Additional Information (e.g. shift resource, % work that is development vs. maintenance, etc.):

The jobs will consist of approximately 50% new documentation and 50% maintaining and updating existing documentation. The jobs will also require working partial US hours.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field (technical communications, journalism, English, communications)



Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:

*3-7 years of technical writing experience, preferably in fianancial services. *Knowledge of WIKIs and web editing tools

*Demonstrated experience in advanced features of Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. *Excellent English language verbal/written skills and the ability to effectively interview technical contacts for content information. *Ability to understand Thomson Reuters DataScope products and effectively write about them. *Demonstarted team player with experience in all aspects of documentation development and delivery. *Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. *Must be highly motivated, able to work independently, be flexible, and able to interact effectively with all levels in the S&T Content Technologies organization. *Knowledge of relational databases.
