Designation	OSS Engineer
Job Description	General Purpose Performs basic technical activities to service the customer directly or through customer interface, under supervision and following defined procedures. Main Responsibility Area Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities: •Manage OSS (Nokia NetAct, third party NMS) applications, platform from Operations Centre. •Manage and administration of Citrix remote application access servers / clusters. •Publish various remote end applications in to citrix servers and ensure high application availability to the users. •Ensure of the system in functionality PM, CM and FM. Position Description •Administration of OSS applications and proactive scheduling (automation) of daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks. •Ensure the performance and quality of the technical platform, servers, applications etc. •Control data flow from the network to the OSS System and plan the corrections and extensions to the OSS accordingly. •Prepare action plans for future software and hardware upgrades in the OSS in line with customer account teams. •Co-operate with other Network Operation Centre personnel in trouble and emergency situations. •Train other Network Operation Centre personnel (GNSC CM,PM and FM users) in the use of the OSS and its features. •Configuration and administration of third party software/applications. •Configuration and administration of OSS DCN (Cisco switches and routers). •Coordination with BSS, NSS, GPRS and other engineers for integration of respective products with OSS •Integration of DCN with Network elements, OSS servers. •Administration of OSS back up solutions including Omni pack, data protector, EMC solutions etc •Configuration and administration of End user seats. •Troubleshooting and fault rectification in the OSS system with in SLA time frame. •Fault escalation to next level support (tier 2 or product line) and follow up until finding the solution. •Monitoring End to End link availability (with redundancies) and ensure high bandwidth availability for all users. •Co ordinate with service providers to restore link outages and update the management on link and band width utilization. •Updating functional seniors in case of critical and emergency outages, and keep all affected entities (users) updated on the trouble shooting status. •Develop and implement processes to manage fault free OSS platforms.
Desired Profile	•Nokia NetAct applications, database, communication and citrix servers Administration. •Nokia NetAct user & Security management, FM, PM and AM applications/ performance reporting tools (Primarily Global reporter). •Experience in different databases (Oracle, Sybase, and Informix) and UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms use in Nokia NetAct and third party NMS. •Script Coding, preferably Perl, Unix and Linux Operating System user, Oracle DB SQL. •Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, Perl DBI and SNMP protocols and port mapping. •Good competence in Cisco routers and switches (preferably Cisco certifications) •Documentation according to project procedures and Site Inventories.
