Job Description	Project summary Thomson - Reuters Real time tick capture engine (TRTCE) is a product that collects and manages tick data. In addition, it correlates, aggregates enriches information from distributed and seemingly unrelated data sources in real-time to detect and trends that would otherwise go unnoticed The product is high performance solution used widely for tick data management allowing users to perform real-time and historical market data analysis e.g pre-trade analysis, algorithmic trading, customized VWAP calculations, transaction cost analysis (TCA), quantitative analysis, and regulatory compliance for MiFID and Reg NMS. It gives users the ability to crunch massive amounts of real-time and historical data in milliseconds for concise analysis. It is a high performance real time database, heavily multithreaded, built on windows platform. We are also working on many of the Systems programming problems typically encountered in (real time) Operating and Distributed Systems, Databases and Compilers like query processing, caching and storage management. We are looking for sr. staff with strong experience in development/debugging windows based server application. Should be very strong in C++, OOP, IPC, Sockets, locking concepts, data structures, multithreading, windows debugging tools and databases with experience ranging between 3 to 5 years. Essential Day to Day Responsibilities - 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in design/ development/debugging C++ multithreaded server application and Data Structures on windows platform. - Strong debugging experience in windows platform - Strong in C++, OOP, data structures, multithreading concepts, locks etc. - Good experience in designing using Object oriented techniques, C++, design patterns - Good understanding in server side implementation, IPC mechanism. - This is a hands on position and the candidate is expected to make significant technical contribution while working with a team of talented engineers. Additional Responsibilities 100% of the work by bangalore development team is new development work. Desired Profile	Education Engineering graduate or MCA with relevant experience. Higher degrees with little less experience will also be considered. Required skills 3 to 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance & Release Management, QA processes and methodologies - Large part of his experience should be in testing enterprise class client server application - Experienced in white box testing of back end servers using C++/C and data driven testing - Good knowledge of SQL And Databases - Experience with Make files, build environment using Visual studio on Windows - Strong experience of scripting languages such as TCL, Pearl, Python, Shell scripts etc and creating test scripts - Familiarity with networking concepts TCP/IP, multicasting - Participated in all phases of testing cycle, suggest new and improve existing QA processes. - Able to work with Developers and understand the design and come up with test plans - Assist in defining and creating functional specs and release notes. - Experienced in creating test plans from design docs, creating test cases and executing complete test and release of complex software products. - Process oriented, define and implement industry standard QA processes - Basic Knowledge of development environment Visual Studio 2005. - Good experience with problem identification and problem replication - Good experience with test harness and script based automation tools. Ability to identify and automate some of the regression and performance tests. - Knowledge of financial market will be a plus Desired skills - Knowledge of database internals - Knowledge of networking fundamentals, Load balancing, Scalability etc. will be desirable At Thomson Reuters, we believe what we do matters.
