Job Description	JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY JD 1 – Unix/ Linux Sysadmin – 3-4+ years of experience administering and supporting an enterprise class multi-tier Unix environment JD 2 - Sr. Unix/ Linux Sysadmin – 5-8+ years of experience administering and supporting an enterprise class multi-tier Unix environment JD 3 - PM Unix/ Linux Sysadmin-7-10+ years of experience administering and supporting an enterprise class multi-tier Unix environment. Techno Managerial role.   MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY  Responsible for day-to-day support LINUX/ HP UNIX  System setup and customization  Good knowledge on Jumpstart/kickstart installation and configuration.  OS installation and configuration. Responsibilities include hardware, OS, level troubleshooting.  System disk storage maintenance knowledge of (SDS , LVM, VXVM) is required.  System monitoring CPU, Disk, Memory utilization etc.Capacity planning inputs, Periodical reporting  able to perform in 24 x 7 or APAC timing Environment in shift roaster  Problem resolution and RCA for system issues  OS/Patches upgrade. Scripting for automating tasks  Backup / Restore Sun Tape library/ NetBackup Exec.  Ability to write UNIX shell scripts and procedures to automate administration tasks.  Expertise on SUN cluster / Veritas Clusters  Virtualization Solaris Containers, Zones and LDOM administration.  Strong concepts of networking like TCP / IP  Loading of software, Networking, TCP/IP, NFS, NIS & DNS.  Knowledge and experience in SUN Storage/Disaster Recovery/Backup Solutions is required.  Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment  Ability to provide user support and assistance  Ability to develop reports and programs to support evolving business  Capable of working independently and efficiently on several tasks simultaneously  Capable of completing tasks within assigned deadlines  Ability to adapt and move into new technologies  Troubleshooting SUN hardware problems as required  Assist in implementation, maintenance and support of OS/ system security  Conversant with MP-RAS.  Maintain and provide technical and operations support of third party systems software  Maintain, add, remove, and edit batch job schedule  Manage Backup and Tape rotations.  Knowledge of ITIL or equivalent processes  Systems Tuning  Job Scheduling (Robot Scheduler) or equivalent scheduler experience preferred  Ability to work flexible work schedules as required and provides scheduled and emergency off-hours (eg, nights, holidays and weekends) support.  Ability to be -on call- for and respond for emergency support  Skills in team Building, mentoring and problem solving
Desired Profile	Skills / Attributes required  Hands-on HP-UX, HP-UX B.11.00, HP-UX B.11.11, HP-UX B.11.23 systems administrator experiences required  Hands-on LINUX enterprise, SUSE/REDHAT systems administrator experiences required  Prior experience is required with SAN or NAS support in a heterogeneous server environment. A strong background with VERITAS Backup Exec and/or SUN Storage Tek, Snapshot, and Administrative tools is needed.  Knowledgeable and conversant in latest trends and practices in information technology, and its culture and role in data services industry  Requires an ability to isolate, diagnose and resolve service problems on servers, networks and applications.  Good communication skills with ability to interface directly with end users are essential.  Unix certification & ITIL V3 skill desirable.  Peoples management, Audits & process compliance.
