Job Description
Translate business requirements into an actionable logical data model based on subset of Conceptual Model

Apply business and application knowledge to design the data model for flexibility, simplicity, consistency and integrity

Overall design of the various project level data models and ensuring the integrity and quality of the work products/deliverables for the data environment

Work closely with the Database Administrator to ensure the transformational logical design is meeting the functional and performance requirements of the application Create Source To Target Mapping document between logical source and logical target data models

Acquire Industry domain knowledge (retail, manufacturing, health care, insurance, banking, utility, government, media, etc.)

Acquire Business Subject Area knowledge (Human capital, supply chain management, finance, logistics, etc.)

Minimum of two years of industry experience as data analyst

Experience in building collaborative skills in a matrix organization

Experienced in the use of various techniques to develop quality data models (e.g., JAD facilitation, interviewing, iterative development/prototyping of conceptual/logical data models)

Strong understanding of a variety of modeling techniques including, Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), Event-based Modeling and Dimensional Data Modeling (Star and/or Snowflake).

Proficient in using a data modeling tool (e.g., R-Rose, ERWin).

An understanding of physical implementation issues, data strategies, design implications and performance requirements.
