Job Description	Storage Test Manager Job Description In the role of a first line test manager, this individual will be responsible for managing and leading product test deliverables for IBM storage products. S/He will have responsibility for coordinating test planning, test development and test execution efforts with test architects and test leads. S/He will be responsible for coordinating hardware planning, budgeting, procurement and lab management. S/he will be required to observe strict adherence to test processes with team members and should have the ability to provide crisp and accurate status to program management highlighting risks, dependencies and the mitigation plans. S/He will be responsible for all aspects of people management and should be able to lead by example in all activities through domain knowledge and prior experience. S/He should be able to manage change, remove obstacles for the team and encourage employee growth and opportunity. S/He should be able to advice and coach employees to help them develop their skills to best meet their career objectives and current or future business needs. Job Skills Required A) Technical Skills - Good understanding of testing methodologies and challenges in system software - Strong project management skills and experience in delivering system product releases - Good understanding of product development life cycle and methodologies (e.g. Agile) - Strong skills on test automation tools, scripting languages and test case development - Strong skills on test execution, inter-operability testing, test tools and customer support - Familiarity with cluster file systems and FS protocols (NAS, NFS, CIFS, Samba etc) or with Block level storage testing and associated protocols like SCSI, FC, SAS, FCoE, iSCSI etc - Familiarity with storage domain, storage technologies and various storage products B) Soft skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Excellent people management, interpersonal and collaboration skills - Excellent leadership and coaching skills with ability to provide thought leadership - Excellent problem solving and proactive risk assessment/mitigation skills Experience Required This role requires 8-12 years of industry experience in product testing and backend customer support. S/He should have BE in Computer Science or Electronics and preferably have MS in Computer Science. S/He should have 2-4 years of relevant experience in managing testing activities for system/storage products and customer interactions and should have managed delivery of multiple product releases.
