Job Description

 We are currently hiring individual contributors on L2/L3 protocol development and testing @ CISCO Bangalore.

Interested candidates should :

- have a min of 5+ years of industry experience, more experienced candidates preferred

- Developers need be proficient in C programming in an RTOS environment.

- have a strong foundation in networking with specific experience in one or more of the following protocol areas

• L1/L2 protocol dev experience - Ethernet, PPP, FR, ATM, ISDN, SS7

• L2VPN, Tunnels - L2TP, PPTP, LAC-LNS, VPDN

• L2 switching - VLAN, Bridging, Switching

• IP routing - TCP/IP, Routing protocols (BGP, Multicast, OSPF, RIP), Mobile IP

• Identity - AAA, Radius, Diameter, DHCP, LDAP

Selected candidates will gain hands-on experience in the development/testing of various L2 and L3 protocols, and gain expertise in the above-mentioned areas. This presents an opportunity to gain familiarity with implementation of the above technologies on Cisco routers, and become familiar with various Cisco platforms. Engineers will gain in-depth knowledge of Cisco's IOS operating system which is implemented across the majority of Cisco routers/switches, and also get a chance to work on next generation OS implementations of these technologies.

Engineers will be called upon to interface with various teams within Cisco's engineering community, interact with field and technical staff to support Cisco customers, and provide consultation in a technical capacity. Engineers may also participate in Cisco's patent program, and would be encouraged to represent the group in the IETF and other internetworking forums, to set standards and implement forward looking technology.
